Markus Näslund and Mikael Renberg are both Swedish players. Its kinda crazy how big of an impact they had on the games. Especially as "secondary" players. They were no Forsberg, Lidstrom or Sundin. But they were still part of a legendary line up

(I rank Russia into northen europe, it borders Finland) Finland is amazing, The Czech Republic is Crazy good, Sweden is sensational, Russia is a 60 year contender. Then we have the US and Canada. Out of the 6 best teams on the planet, 3 of them are northen european. If you count "just" european its 4... out of 6. HOW is the UK not a dominant force in ice hocky? I was at the game at 13:59 and its a shame they didnt show what happened immediately prior, or have much context around it. The pirates had been a dumpster fire since they ran Barry Bonds out of town (yes, that Barry Bonds) and had 20 consecutive losing seasons going into 2013 but had some hope with a blooming young core. They ended up hosting the relatively new and now defunct best-of-one wild card round to see who moves on to the traditional playoffs (division series) and that park was the loudest ive heard a sports venue in pittsburgh. It was the energy of a winner-take-all game 7 but with the pent-up frustration and excitment of the first meaningful game in well over 2 decades. They were set to play the division rival Cincinnati Reds. Johnny Cueto, the opposing team's pitcher was not a favorite of any opposing team for a variety of reasons, so the fans were mockingly chanting his name in unison. It got loud enough that he stepped off the mound to take a moment, but dropped the ball. Not a problem within the game, but it showed everyone in the stands that the noise was getting to him. Of course the crowd then got even louder. The very next pitch is the one shown in the video, a hanging curve that got knocked out for a home run. The pirates quickly became a laughing stock again after sort of competing for 3 years but they have another talented young core now that might be able to overcome the poor ownership and actually make a splash in the next few years, especially with the expanded playoff format.

Ughh I miss what this channel used to be. 8 amazing sports videos every week where you’d learn rules, techniques, and players. It was so refreshing and pure. I’m a Patreon supporter and everything! But the lack of real sports content is so disappointing. I guess we’re just in store for another tv show reaction channel with the occasional baseball prank or livestream. Really a missed opportunity to cement your legacy as THE british sports-reaction channel

George Carlin performed for decades and every year he would create a completely new routine. He was an amazing comedian.

The reason Ted reminds Beard that it’s his turn to get coffee the next day is because of his father’s death. He’s not being weird or insensitive. Even something as small as knowing you have to get coffee can be enough of a reason for people to not commit su!cide when they’re in the wrong headspace, and Beard looked not like his normal self. Knowing that someone’s counting on you can be really powerful

You see a couple players returning, like Taylor Heinicke - had at least two plays there. But heres the one you gotta keep your eyes on. Julio Jones. number 11 for the Atlanta Falcons (plays for the Eagles now I think?). I counted at least 4 of these clips were him doing something bonkers. And that's just what he does. Absolutely FANTASTIC player.

so any of these 'kicks to the head' you're talking about, aren't really "kicks" from what I can tell. its a dude jumping over another dude and as the defender misses his target, the ball carrier's legs just happen to be there. not really a purposeful "kick" - now, PURPOSEFULLY kicking a guy, like the situation where Antonio Brown ended up kicking the Brown's punter in the chest, 300 style - on a punt return, THAT was an immediate penalty. there has to be 'purpose' of foul play there, or the referees have to at least THINK there's purpose in their actions, (as far as I understand it) for it to be registered as an actual penalty. and in which case it's not like 'kick to the head' is an actual penalty, it'd just be wrapped under the blanket coverage of "Personal Fouls"

yeah concussions are a serious problem in the NFL, even after the HUGE mandates that have happened since the 60s, 70s and 80s when the overall athleticism had increased, thereby increasing the number of savage hits and injuries. The concussion protocol now is basically, dude gets hit too hard - especially a QB - and they'll "bench" him while he runs off to the blue tent in their sidelines to get checked out for a concussion. if there's even a shadow of a doubt that he has a concussion - he's out for the rest of the game and sent to the locker room, and potentially hospital depending on how severe the concussion is concluded to be. this is NECESSARY. as a fan - I love the big hits. we all LIVE for the big hits. But this is absolutely necessary. Over 300 former NFL players have been diagnosed with CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy) after their deaths, including one of my all time favorite players... Junior Seau. a Linebacker for (originally) the San Diego Chargers. Basically in the late 2000's and early to mid 2010s, the claims of CTE's and TBI's became way too much for the NFL to be able to deny anymore and so a lot of precautions and some failsafes were put into place to help prevent and treat these types of injuries. It's just a damn shame that they only started actually taking a problem they'd been having since the 1970s seriously, after 40 years of being told it was dangerous for the players.
